Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition and AARP Tax-Aide provide free tax preparation to low-to-moderate income residents. Volunteers are needed to continue to provide this support. If you have prepared personal income taxes in the past and are looking for a rewarding way to use these skills, consider volunteering with the Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition and AARP Foundation Tax-Aide. The Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition and AARP Foundation Tax-Aide are looking for volunteers in Dutchess, Orange, and Putnam Counties to become certified tax preparers. Help low and moderate-income individuals, families, and seniors get refunds and credits they may not have known about and efile at no cost. If you have prepared personal income taxes in the past and are looking for a way to use these skills, consider volunteering with the coalition.
Other volunteers support roles including greeters, IT set up and marketing are also available. Volunteers get a great deal of satisfaction from helping people prepare their taxes and get the refunds and credits they may not have known about.
Free training is provided for all the volunteer roles and takes place in fall 2024 or early winter 2025. Tax sites are open from February 2025 through April 2025 and are likely located in or near your town. Volunteers must commit to at least four hours once a week at their assigned site during tax season, flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, or evenings are available.

The Hudson Valley CA$H Coalition is a group of organizations dedicated to helping families and individuals in the Hudson Valley save money and improve their financial stability. Last year over 6,418 returns were filed at more than 32 tax sites throughout the Hudson Valley.
Increase your own personal talents while helping your local community. Volunteers get a great deal of satisfaction from helping people prepare their taxes. As a volunteer tax preparer, you will review client documentation, interview the client, and prepare federal and state income tax returns using computer software. Free training is provided in tax law procedures, preparing tax forms, and using tax preparation software. Candidates must be available during daytime hours to attend six days of training. Training for the volunteer roles takes place in fall 2024 or early winter 2025.
